This report examines the impact of Industrial Revolution 4.0 on the IT/IT-es sector in India, utilizing qualitative research methods, including document analysis and interviews. It identifies key stakeholders, contextualizes the sector’s work, and relates it to the factors driving change. The report discusses labor law reforms in India, emphasizing their potential shortcomings in addressing the rights of gig workers and social security benefits. Additionally, it maps government policies affecting the IT/IT-es sector and highlights the sector’s evolving technological adoption, workforce changes, and productivity improvements. The report concludes with recommendations: diversifying export targets, promoting lifelong learning, enhancing social security, and fostering innovation and cross-sectional education in the Indian education system.
