It is a good initiative by the government to acknowledge the value of data that government departments collect and to make it accessible for use for the larger ecosystem has the potential to drive economic and social benefits. This will help startups, the research community, and enterprises unlock the value of data. We welcome that the government has invited comments on the draft policy
In our response, we recommended incorporating principles on which data sharing and governance needs to be based like purpose specifications, fair and lawful processing, data deletion, etc.
