She has worked with organizations such as International Center for Research on Women, AdMe in Russia, United Nations Women, Oxford University of International Development, Hindustan Times, and All India Radio.
With a background in Journalism and Sociology from IIMC (New Delhi), Jamia Millia Islamia and Oxford University, Akriti possesses a profound understanding of gender-related issues. Her research on gender-centric topics, such as ‘Gynobalization- Women and their place in Globalization’ and ‘No woman’s land- A mockery of Matrabhoomi’ aligns with her core beliefs.
Throughout her career, Akriti has collaborated with notable organizations like UN Women India, Hindustan Times, and Oxford University, refining her skills in gender-integrated content creation and Communication for Development (C4D) strategies. She excels in building strategic partnerships, providing technical and policy advisory services, and advocating for gender issues with diverse partners.
Her key focus areas encompass the Elimination of Violence against Women (EVAW), promotion of Women’s leadership, integration of gender considerations into national planning and budgeting, advancement of Women’s economic empowerment, and contributions to peace and security efforts pertaining to the targeted gender group.
