Manasa Venkataraman is a technology lawyer and policy advisor with over a decade of experience in privacy, artificial intelligence, and platform governance in India. As an independent consultant, she provides organisations with strategic guidance on navigating complex data regulations, combining a robust legal foundation with practical regulatory insights.

Previously, Manasa served at Meta, where she led product and regulatory advisory for the company’s social media and messaging services across the Asia-Pacific region. She was responsible for privacy strategy and compliance across more than 70 product launches, managed regulatory inquiries, and shaped Meta’s regulatory approach to emerging generative AI guidelines in the region. Prior to this role, she led Meta’s India public policy and regulatory affairs function for privacy and data governance.

Her career in technology policy began at The Takshashila Institution, where she was instrumental in establishing its privacy and data research vertical. She has co-authored influential papers on data protection, contributed to public consultations, and written extensively for leading publications.

Manasa Venkataraman’s association with The Dialogue will be in the capacity of Visiting Fellow, where she will contribute her expertise to the Privacy and Data Governance vertical as well as the AI vertical, providing strategic insights and thought leadership in these domains.
