In February 2020, The Dialogue, in collaboration with the Centre for Communication Governance at National Law University Delhi, convened a crucial roundtable to discuss India’s path toward establishing a robust Data Protection Authority (DPA). As India moves from limited data privacy practices to an advanced data protection regime, this consultation brought together thought leaders, technology experts, lawmakers, and civil society to address the regulatory framework needed for a high-standard, independent DPA.
This report captures key insights from the event, chaired by Mr. Ritesh Pandey, Member of Parliament, and moderated by Mr. Kazim Rizvi of The Dialogue.
